17 year old players and Adult rugby.
Firstly, many thanks to the 8 Clubs that have submitted the approval forms for their Clubs and their players. We hope the process has not caused any delays.
A weekly report is issued by the RFU which shows all the 17 year old players who play in adult rugby each week.
The latest report shows that one Club in Bucks has allowed two players to play in adult rugby despite having no approvals at all. Neither the Club nor players approval forms had been submitted.
This Club has now received a serious, formal warning from Bucks RFU.
THIS IS THE ONLY WARNING THAT WILL BE ISSUED.
From today, 22 November 2019, any Club found to be in breach of Regulation 15 in regard to 17 year old players in adult rugby will be reported to the disciplinary committee of both Bucks RFU and the RFU. The sanctions are severe and include suspension of coaches and deduction of league points from the Club’s First XV.
We sincerely hope that there will be no need for such disciplinary actions and would reiterate that if any help or guidance is required then you should contact Chris McCombie or Neale Baker.
