An outstanding first half display saw our county U18s beat Somerset 21-7 at our first SW trials game.
The weather at Bristol was not ideal but the boys stormed into their first game this season with a rugged forwards display that gave them complete domination for the first half. A quality defensive performance kept us a bay and a breakaway interception saw Somerset go ahead albeit briefly.
The forwards drove a maul over the line for our first score with winger Tom Stileman scoring two more before the break. Full Back Ryan Greenstreet kicked all three conversions into a swirling wind, including one incredible effort that was aimed at least 5 metres wide of the target for the wind to bring it in.
An impressive display with the promise of more to come on Sunday 3rd November when we meet Cornwall in our final SW match.
